  5.     If you, or a youngster you know needs to learn more about
  6. America's Favorite Pastime, this is a program to look at.  In
  7. typical MicroBase fashion this program is easy to use and full of
  8. useful information.  For those of you with doubts about the depth of
  9. knowledge a computer programmer has concerning baseball, have no
  10. fear.  MicroBase used Alan Bannister as their expert technical
  11. advisor.  With his extensive professional career as a player and a
  12. coach, rest assured the information is accurate and designed for
  13. practical use.

  15.     When I originally got this program, I used it from the viewpoint
  16. of a player and fan who wanted to learn more about the game.  I
  17. learned many new intricacies of the game that I had never thought of
  18. before.  This program gives you a lot of insight into what players,
  19. coaches and umpires must contend with to be prepared for a game.
  20.  
  21.     However, to my surprise, and pleasure, much of the information
  22. presented can also be very useful to the beginning coach, and may
  23. possibly be of use to the experienced coach as well.  I volunteered
  24. as a coach this past season at the local Youth Center and this
  25. program is a beginning coach's delight.  It was a reference tool I
  26. turned to many times during our season.  I think it made me a better
  27. coach and a bit more understanding of all aspects of the game.

  29.     PlayBall!  has information on each position on the field and
  30. what skills that player needs and what drills best prepare a player
  31. for that position.  There is also offensive and defensive
  32. information on all of the different plays that are normally called,
  33. from how to play a fly ball to what to do when defending a bunt.
  34. Much of the information is easy to read and understand.  This
  35. program does not have any audio or video to further explain game
  36. situations, but that is the only shortcoming I can find with this
  37. excellent, user friendly program.

  39.     I'm sure I could have found as much useful information in a
  40. book, but it gives me one more reason to justify the computer with
  41. my wife and includes a very fun game.  The Baseball Trivia game is
  42. designed to test your knowledge of baseball trivia and rules.  The
  43. baseball trivia game will keep youngsters and "youngsters at heart"
  44. entertained and challenged for many hours, while subtly increasing
  45. their knowledge and understanding of the game.  This game is
  46. designed for one or two players, so you can challenge your buddy to
  47. a game of wits.  Choosing the question difficulty determines whether
  48. it is a single, double, triple or a homer.  If the question is
  49. answered correctly, you get a hit; answer it wrong and you are out.

  51.     If you desire to learn more about baseball or want to give your
  52. little leaguer a slight advantage and confidence in knowing more
  53. about the game, then this program is worth a serious look.
